I'm sure we know who to reflect. :) How about the 'salt' part u may ask? And guess what, how much salt do u need to add to give flavour to food? JUST A PINCH! U can affect your surroundings in a powerful way more than u realise! ;)
We sang a new song today. I love the chorus. =)

No more running wild
I'm Yours for life
Well You got me here
You got me

I hear Your call tonight
Your heart is mine
Well You got me here
You got me!

I sent in my voting form for the Student Council elections already. I'm allowed to vote for myself so I did becos I love and support myself! Haha. But I'm not gonna campaign for votes, just don't feel that there's a need to. If people want to vote for me, they'll vote one lah. ;) It's not like I'm running to be president of S'pore anyway! I think the results will be out next week. Stay tuned! ;)

12 August 2008

I had such a physically and mentally demanding day but it was a really fulfilling day too! I learnt and gained so much. I'm gonna apply them and share the good things with the pple around me becos when I received something good I just cannot keep it to myself! I've long decided that I'm not gonna live a selfish life. Dear friends, I will share the good things I experienced with you becos I love you enough to do so! =)

And oh, the MDIS Student Council ExCo members voting list is out and I have a 66% chance of being elected to be a Communications Secretary! I'm 1 out of the 3 pple shortlisted and there's 2 seats for this position! I'm suppose to campaign for the SC members to vote for me now! Very unlike me to do so though!

11 August 2008

The last one month felt really long... Dear friends, pls say a prayer for me while u're reading this. I need to stop stabbing myself in the heart with the same knife again and again (lol, I sound so morbid). But I'm glad that behind the tears, I have laughter. Behind the pain, I still have joy. I'm glad that I'm enjoying my life even in the midst of this battle. I'm glad that I can always hold on to the love that never fails me... You're more than enough for me!

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name!

These 2 letters touched my heart . . . I believe they'll touch yours too. The first letter is written by Ashley, a university student and the latter by her mother, Anna.

Hi,

I feel kinda weird writing this email. And I doubt if it ever gets to Mr Louie
Giglio. I am a Senior at The University of Florida. I got a new roommate this semester and she is a Christian and I have never really been into the whole Christian thing because every pastor or speaker that I have ever listened to didn’t speak in a language I could understand. I have believed in God and Jesus, but never really understood it because of the preachers at the church that I have always been forced to go to every Sunday of my life. They speak all high and mighty and I never really felt connected, and I felt like God was only for the perfect people.

Well my roommate went to this Passion Conference over winter break. And she came back and moved into my apt and she was real and genuine about all her Christian stuff, like I have never seen before in a person. She said that God changed her at this conference, so I was like, "What are you talking about"? And she told me. She told me about how God was cool, and how God really wanted a deeper relationship with her, and she wanted to really love God the way He loved her, so of course I was like "Well, huh"?

She then said you need to listen to Louie talk about God, so I asked who Louie was, and she put on the Indescribable talk, and then we watched the Passport talk. And in the Passport talk you said that Christians do not have to just hope for the best at the end, that they do not have to do enough good stuff. You explained how to get to heaven in a simple way, in a way that I have never heard before. I actually got it, I got it that it is not about being so good, cause I am not a good person. I have screwed up a lot. But then you said grace, and talked about how it was different than other religions. Because God is a loving and a kind God who wants to forgive me. My roommate then explained that He wants to forgive me.

Now for one of the reasons I am thanking you. One, I am now a Christian. And two, my roommate said that she had never really cared about telling others about how much God loved her before she went to this conference. So though I am not sure who will ever read this. Please tell Louie thanks from me, for talking about Christ in a way that a college kid can understand. I know that Jesus has changed my life and as I get ready to graduate college in May, I am gonna be a different person. I am sorry this is kinda rambling but I just had to tell you that I now know about the grace of God, and I have life for the first time in my 22 years.

Ashley

Dear Mr. Giglio,

It is with a heavy heart that I send you this email. My daughter is Ashley, she wrote you an email that went on your blog and podcast Well, today May 3rd at 4pm we buried Ashley. She was killed in a car accident late on Sunday night. She lost control of her car and hit a light pole. She was the only car involved and had serious internal bleeding. She died in the arms of my husband at the hospital from unstoppable internal bleeding. But I have hope of seeing my daughter again. I have this hope because after years of praying for her, and watching her live a lifestyle in college that is known as the typical college experience. The last semester of her college career I saw a woman, not a college girl, that I have never been more proud to call my daughter. I can point the thanks to you and Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Matt Redman, and everyone else involved in your Passion Conferences. Ashley fell in love with our Savior over the last 5 months of her life. She was so excited about graduation this week and moving to California to work her first real job. She had a life ahead of her. I miss my beautiful princess more than anything in this world.

But I just felt like you should know that she listened to as many of your talks as she could get her hands on and read your book I am not but I know I am and she was so excited about God and her new found faith. Words alone can not thank you enough. I may never meet you here on earth, but I know that someday I will be able to meet you and give you a hug in heaven, but only after Ash does. Thank you so much for praying for my girl, and your support of her as she was starting her new life. Also thanks for being a man of God who has a passion, and love for college students.

Your vision to share the gospel and getting college students to do the same made all the difference at a funeral today. Instead of being sad and scared for her, we were able to sing praise and worship songs today. Though there will be tears and I am so very heartbroken and crying as I type this, it is only because I will not hold her for so many years. And I will miss her for the rest of my life. I know I have said thank you a lot in this email, but because of you and Christa (Ashley’s roommate) and people at the Bible Study that she was going to she was happier than I have seen her in a very long time. In the email she originally sent you, it said she had life for the first time in her 22 years, and please know she meant every word of that. She lived the last few months serving and loving and learning more about Christ. She will now spend eternity in heaven with Him so one more time thanks. I know this was long and I debated for the last 4 days as to whether or not to write you. I know you are a very busy man, but I also figured you would want to know.

Ashley’s Mom
Anna

Life is so fragile so don't wait anymore, cos it'll be too late then. I long to see all my friends and family members in heaven. I want to spend eternity with YOU in heaven and we're gonna have an awesome time together! Don't make it so hard for me lah. =)

P.S: You can leave a msg at the Facebook group Ashley’s mom created here.

09 August 2008

Last National Day, Aileen and I went to The Padang to catch the live screening of the National Day Parade.

We were part of the largest human flag record.

We also went to catch the movie 881 and partied at MOS that night!

This National Day however, I decided to take it easy by resting at home and catching up on my reading. I caught the live screening of the NDP on TV. My fave part was the aerobatics display!

These F-16C Fighting Falcons are pretty can! Kudos to the Black Knights for the great aerial performance! ;)

I also like this year's NDP logo. =)

While I was watching the show, I was reading The Straits Times and lo and behold, I came across this article that said, "Mega-churches such as the 24,000-member City Harvest are known for using marketing and pop culture to win over the young."

Excuse me =), what won me over was nothing of that sort but the reality of God that I experienced there and the true friends who love me and accept me for who I am, the rest are all but icing on the cake! You think I will sacrifice my life, my time and my finances over some clever marketing and entertainment meh? No way. If my life wasn't improving, if I wasn't becoming a better and happier person, if the friends I had there didn't stick by me through thick and thin, I would have disappeared from CHC a long time ago. So what won me over five years ago and is still winning me over now and many others is and will be the love of God and the love from people that we experienced, thank you!

I just cannot sit back and do nothing when some journalist sound so shallow. =) Anyways...

Happy 43th Birthday Singapore! Thanks for having me the last 20+ =P years of my life! Love you! =)

My tagboard seems kinda quiet. Tag if u're reading this people!

On the MRT train back home on Sun after FOP, Le Woon was sitting on my right and Terence on my left. When I shared with them about my Student Council nomination, both immediately responded that I should go for it without a moment of hesitation! I think it's in their male blood! ;P

I decided to run for the Communications Secretary position as it interests me the most while the other 2 positions seem kinda boring. The responsibilities of Communications Secretaries are to 'oversee the Council's Public Relations activities. They chair the SC's communication outlets (Publication, Bulletin Board and Website) and liaise with the school's Marketing Communications department. They are also in charge of producing and keeping a record of the SC style book. The Communications Secretaries also head the Communications Sub-Committee.'

And well, here is the essay I wrote:

Leadership expert, John C. Maxwell said that “Everything rises and falls on leadership,” and that is what I strongly believe in. How high the MDIS Student Council can rise will depend on its leadership and I am available to answer to that call. With only six more months to my last examination in February (estimated to graduate in April 2009), I would like to offer my service as a Communications Secretary to the Student Council and the MDIS student body at large. As a Mass Communications student and a language tutor, I am confident that l will be able to serve that responsibility well. Moreover, I enjoy interacting with people and have a cheerful disposition - I believe these will serve me well as a Communications Secretary with the Public Relations work involved.

Though leadership may seem glamorous, I understand that it in fact comes with the price tag of hard work and sacrifice. I am willing to pay that price to help and contribute in the ways I can.

Leadership is also about influence and I know that I can affect the Student Council in positive manners. I will do my best to give positive feedback during ExCo meetings and help facilitate the meetings with the UniReps.

Lastly, as a human being, it is inevitable that I will make mistakes but at such times I am willing to change and to learn from them so that I can be a better leader and carry out the duties entrusted to me well.

It's pretty simple and it comes from my heart. I see no point in writing some flamboyant essay to boast of my talents, capabilities or experience! Frankly speaking, I am not a person of many talents but what I do have is a willing heart. A heart that is willing to admit my mistakes and learn from them. A heart that loves to serve and to give! =)

I know what my purpose after SOT is - to excel in my school in every area possible and to make a difference in the lives of the people there in these last 6 months or so and the impact created is to supersede what I did in the last 26 months since I started schooling there in June 2006!

If I do not get elected for the position, I will still gladly serve as a normal UniRep but if I do, I pray that the other Communications Secretary will be someone good and talented that I can work well with! ;)

And of course, dear blog readers, you'll be the first I'll share the results of the election with. ;)

30 July 2008

Mr. Doc said I need to take more vitamins and include more red meat in my diet because I don't have enough iron! And he said I looked pale. Goo goo gaga. That explains my extreme fatigue and weakness during my time of the month, every time. He also said, " We are not robots . . . everyone is different, some people get cramps . .. ". That encouraged me. :) I wished I was some superhuman, some robot, that never falls sick, never be tired, but I'm just not. I'm human. So this human being needs to include more beef and pork in her diet even though she doesn't particularly fancy them. =X

Bring me the steak! GAH!

14 Feb 2005 is likely to be the first and the last time I donate blood. You'll know why when u read what I blogged about the experience in my previous blog (I wrote this when I was 17 years old yeah? =) ) :

The nurse took my blood pressure again and told me to squeeze the ball on my right hand real tight so that my vein will "xian shen". But I couldn't (maybe I was too scared). I then exclaimed that my prick was painful.

"Aiyoh. People go for operation more painful than this," the nurse attempted to comfort me (no use). ORH.The nurse then handed me the Post Donation Instructions For Blood Donors and iron tablets(to be taken once daily for the next 2 weeks). She went to attend to other matters and left me to relax and prepare myself for the real, the real painful deal. Approximately 5 mins later (meanwhile I prayed), she came back and removed the measuring blood pressure armband which was really tight on my arms. She demonstrated how hard to squeeze the ball. She said I have to cooperate so that she can insert the needle easily (my first time mah). She applied iodine on the site. My heart was pounding. The climax was coming. She injected the painkiller. PAIN! Talk about a pain free procedure. The painkiller was more like a "pain giver" to me. "That's only the painkiller". RIGHT. My right arm began to lose sensation and feel numb. One minute later, the time has come for the blood suction to take place. I shut my eyes tight and panicked.

"Don't close your eyes! Breathe!" The nurse loudly instructed. I opened my mouth and pathetically tried to gulp in some air. The needle went into my skin and vein. It was much more bearable then the painkiller. Phew! By this time, Mr Quek had noticed the commotion and came over.

"Mr Quek, talk to me!" I pleaded.

"It's ok, the blood is flowing already. First time, you will be afraid. Subsequent times will be easier."

"Oh ok...Mr Quek, why didn't you donate blood this time?"

"I donated in January at the Red Cross Blood Bank. It was my 74th time." My jaw dropped and my eyes opened wide.

"74 times?? Wow...", I was amazed. My admiration of him just upped a level. I wondered if I will ever donate blood a second time. While my blood was still flowing into the bag, I began to think that donating blood isn't as easy as I thought it to be. Maybe I just haven got the hang of it. Then I thought about Jesus. How much blood did He lose for my sake? A lot. How much pain did He have to go through? Definitely a hundred and ten times more excruciating than mine. God is so good to me.

Another nurse came to collect the bag when it was filled. 300 ml doesn't seem a lot. No no, every single ml of blood counts and matter to the one who is in need of it. The removing of the needle was alright and I was looking forward to the bandaging part. (You'll know why as u read on! ;) ) Then came the drama. The nurse commented that I looked pale and lowered the armchair for me to lie down. I was feeling thirsty and requested for water. I quickly sipped the water and closed my eyes (this time to rest!). A few minutes later I was awakened by someone calling me. It was Clement. He was sitting on an armchair a metre away, waiting to be attended. It was his first time donating blood too.

"You look real dead lah", he exclaimed. I looked at him with an "Are-you-serious??" expression plastered across my face.

"Do I look really pale?" I questioned. He nodded. I reckoned having a real pale, dead-looking person lying beside you just before you are about to donate blood for the first time doesn't help. Oops.

In the next 10 mins that I rested, 3 nurses came to ask me if I was feeling okay at least twice each!

"Are you giddy?", one nurse asked."I think not", came the unconvincing reply. I requested the nurse to help me up my seat. She supported me all the way to the Refreshment Lounge even though I told her I could walk. She's being professional I guess.

There were no more empty chairs. This guy, whom I happened to take notice of last Fri ,very gentlemanly gave up his seat for me. He's rather good-looking. All I know is that he is in Canoeing and he's in the same History lecture at me. I dunno his name or which class he is in! Funny how I seem to recognise people by their CCAs.

"You want Milo? " He asked. I nodded. He then helped me to take out the straw and poke it into the packet (lol).

"Biscuits?" He offered. I paused for 5 seemingly long seconds, pondering whether I should just take it myself, not eat any or accept his offer. I succumbed.

"Can I have the other kind?" I requested. Again he helped me to open the packet and handed it to me. I thanked him sincerely, grateful that this sweet guy has helped a stranger like me to do three wonderfully ''ti tie'' things. He sure did give me a good first impression. For the next one minute we did not converse and it was a tiny bit awkward sitting beside him. He had to go.

"Bye." I tried to sound as friendly as I possibly could.

Afterwards, I saw Kenny walking towards the Lounge area and I offered him the only empty seat beside me.

"No thanks. I'm late for class." He said in a somewhat serious tone. He grabbed a drink and left. I felt kind of convicted. Kenny rushed to go to his lesson and here I am taking my own sweet time to rest when I had a class going on. I sped up to finish my refreshments. I grabbed one last packet of mineral water (my fourth, each 230ml) and went back to class. Only 300ml of blood and I need a replacement of so much water? Water is my element. Period.

Back in class, they were doing a PC assignment titled - The Use Of Force. Mr Pang told me to take a breather instead of work "vigorously". Both Pei Ru and Karnjote mentioned that I look really pale and asked me if I was feeling alright. Geez. I guess I'm not feeling that alright after all. So much for being convicted. I should have stayed longer to rest. Silly me.

I'm glad that I plucked up the courage to go for the donation and find that this day is most memorable. It is an experience more special and rewarding than any movie or date can offer, don't you think (wow I had such a mature thought at 17, hahaha)?

This human being needs to get healthier. I need iron man (pun intended)! =D

29 July 2008

I officially moved out of Hall 3 today cos the owner is back. It's been great staying there for the last 2 months. =) Big thanks to Charlene for letting me stay in her room! Her bf is surprising her with a bouquet of 12 pink roses to welcome her back from Denmark! How sweet. =)

I'll miss:
  • the peace and quiet in campus
  • the free outgoing campus calls
  • waking up only at 7am
  • taking only 20 mins to reach sch
  • the TV Lounge where I catch Superband and So You Think You Can Dance on Monday nights, read the Straits Times and sing at the top of my voice like nobody's business (when no one is around of course ;) )
  • travelling to sch tgt with Joelle and En Yao Kor Kor and really being salt and LIGHT... Heh. =P

Now the challenge is to be early for school for the next 19 days! Just 3 more weeks to graduation, woo hoo!

And look what I received in my inbox today:

I didn't block you but I've made a decision to not talk to you, at least for the next few months and I'm just sticking to the decision I made. Sorry, but I've got to be cruel to be kind. This will be good for the both of us eventually. I hope you understand. And no, I won't be joining Superband. You study hard.

It's the 2nd day of my that time of the month and I'm trying to not pull my hair.

With You, I'll walk this narrow way. I want to be the few that will ever find it.

My life can afford to be more happening!

Contented but dissatisfied!

There is MORE!

18 July 2008

My students didn't wanna have tuition today and the overnight pm was postponed to next Fri so that can only mean one thing for me - time to catch The Dark Knight in the cinema! =D After my somewhat horrid movie experience two weeks ago, this was vital entertainment for my soul! ;)

If you're interested about the movie but have not caught it yet, go watch it already! It's really very good. I would give it 4 and maybe even 4.5 out of 5 stars. It's as good as Iron Man but the plot of this movie is so much more complicated and full of twists and turns! It requires intellectual understanding on your part!

My favorite moment in the movie is when the convict threw the detonator in the sea! =) I like how Joker's social experiment failed, how it shows humanity still has a heart and conscience against all odds. I like how Batman is willing to sacrifice his reputation and his security in order that the citizens of Gotham may still have hope for the future. I like how righteousness prevailed in the superhero despite the trying circumstances that were present. I love to watch Superhero movies like these! =)

Had a good time with Vanessa, Francis and gang even though it was just a short 3 hours spent together! =) Thanks guys! Victor, I seriously don't mind watching the movie again! ;)

Time to share some thoughts that's being going through my mind:

It's the caterpillar's destiny to become a butterfly . . . The only way it would fail to become one is when it gives up and loses the will to fight. Will you be willing to go through the metamorphosis? Will you be willing to pay the price?

Pst Ming shared that Abraham Lincoln struggled for 9 hours on his deathbed after he was shot in the neck when most people put in a similar situation would have died within 1 to 2 hours according to the doctors. He was aware of his great calling and destiny as president of his country and fought till the end to keep it. That touched my heart completely. How many times have I felt like giving up and asked God to just take me to heaven? But I have a great destiny. I will impact lives. It is my destiny to. I want to have a great attitude like Abraham Lincoln, the one who says, "Never, never, never, never, never give up."

I feel frustrated, because the potential that lies within me is trying to get out. Walk into your destiny Wendy, don't lose sight of it. You are not just living for yourself. You are laying down your life for others, not because you have to but because you want to. Bruce Wayne is a billionaire. He's got everything he ever needed. He could have just enjoyed all that he had for himself but he chose to get uncomfortable, he chose to sacrifice his own life to fight for what he believes in. He chose to save Gotham City from the onslaughts of the enemies. Live like that!

" Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose." - Helen Keller

15 July 2008

For so long I was struggling and groping in the dark, running around in circles and not knowing what is the exact thing that I ought to do nor was I able to clearly see the rationale of why I want to do it. But today, my breakthrough came and I finally felt a sense of release and saw the light in the situation. When light comes, darkness dissipates. =) Now, I'm clear of the decision that I've made and why I made it. Finally, I found the strength, and the faith to know that I can overcome this. And I can only thank you, you, you, you, you, you,you and You for it. =)

Of course, that doesn't mean that everything will turn perfect overnight. It takes 3 weeks for me to become familiar with something new and another 3 weeks before it becomes a comfortable habit. But I've made a decision and I'm sticking to it. I really, really want to be kind but I need to be cruel to be kind now. I need to lose in order to win. ;) I sow in tears now and I shall reap in joy! =)

Choir practice was so fun! Loves it. =)

Life Still Has Meaning - Author unknown

If there is a future there is time for mending
Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.

Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow
If you’re looking forward to a new tomorrow.

If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping
When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.

Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling
If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

So if through your window there is a new day breaking
Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,

If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning
There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.

Walua Seribu Rebah (English)

Mercies that rise with the new morn

Set me apart as a newborn

Each moment I live

By faith I believe

With You I'm never alone

Darkness may come

Trials seem so long

You are the light I depend on

Through valleys and storms

Your word keeps me strong

My shelter, refuge and song

I trust in You

Everyday I live

I know You are my God

I lift my face and look to you my Lord

Even when the mountains tremble

And a thousand fall

I will stand with You

My Jesus

Take My All

10 July 2008

En Yao kor kor confronted me yesterday and what he said really spoke to me, especially this - "A leader always bounces back from their setbacks quickly. " For too long I've been standing down - too emo and vulnerable. I've been having headaches, heartaches, endless tears and sorrows. And then there were the times when the words that I want to express can't find their way out of my mouth , the times when I didn't do the things that I'm supposed to because I was simply too depressed to focus on doing anything. I can't go on like this forever. I need to get up and get up quickly I must. There are so many tasks and people waiting for me . . . A leader cannot afford to take their own sweet time to stand up on their feet again. Because the people under their care will be shortchanged as a result. I hate being shortchanged so I really shouldn't and mustn't shortchange people. For all those that I've let down throughout this ordeal, thanks for being patient with me.

I have so many weaknesses . . . really I do, but every time I fall, I eventually find the strength to get back up again. You know, one of my 20th birthday wishes last year was to become a stronger person and God is fulfilling that wish every single day, especially in this season of my life. It is very uncomfortable but I know that after all is said and done, it will be worthwhile at the end of the day. Through this painful experience, I got to know myself better and gain new insights.

Wendy is gonna be the happiest person you will see on the face of the earth! ;P

The test today was much easier than expected. I think I'll get around 85/90! :) Tmr's test will not be as easy but I'm confident that I'll do well. =) I LOVE DOING MCQs. Totally love it, lol.

Don't wanna walk this road alone
Cos I know You are the best of me
I won't do it on my own
Cos in You I found my destiny

The road is long
The valley's deep
The ocean's wide in front of me

But God . . .
You will save the day

Daddy, thank You for always loving me. Help me to love him when I can't. I thank You that You will. That you will be there for him when I can't. You will send good friends into his life that will be a blessing to him when I can't. I entrust him to you. You will do a work so radical and so great that he will know that You are the true and living God. I'll see him in heaven one day and we can look back and laugh about what happened. Daddy, wipe the tears from our eyes and mend our broken hearts. Let us see beyond the pain and be strong . . . let joy and peace fill us once again. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
What a beautiful beautiful song, click and listen! ;)

I Still Believe In Miracles - Sydney Mohede

I've been watching you closely up from Heaven
See the dark clouds hanging above your head
As the enemies and vultures closed behind you
You feel you've lost with nowhere left to go

But I've promised you that I would never leave you
Though My timing's hard for you to comprehend
Do you trust Me to know that I am there
To see you through, right until the end?

Do you believe in miracles?
That I'll part the sea and save your day?
Do you believe in miracles?
That I will be with you all the way?

For so many days and nights I've prayed to Heaven
While the enemies are waiting for my fall
When all around me felt like sinking sand
With no place to stand, with only Your name I can call

Now I know my faith in You is being shaken
And I'm not afraid to say that I am scared
But I do know You're true to all Your words
You are my God and I know that You'll be there

I still believe in miracles
That You'll part the sea and save my day
I still believe in miracles
You would be with me all the way!

And I know that You are able to save me from the fire
But even if You don't
My love for You remains . . .
My love for You remains!

I still believe in miracles
That You'll part the sea and save my day
I still believe in miracles
You would be with me all the way

Save my day
All the way
Save my day

27 June 2008

I got scolded by my aunt the first thing I got home just now. Well, I'm used to coming home and receiving a scolding instead of a welcome. Though the thing that she reprimanded me for may have been legitimate, it was not done in love but rather, in anger and frustration. And you know ,when someone doesn't speak to you in love, you're naturally not receptive to it.

Home has never been a place I genuinely look forward to coming back to. Because I know what awaits me is not a warm welcome, a loving embrace but strife, judgment and unkind words. So at the end of the day, I just become very practical about what a house is for. And you can't blame me for that.

I'm determined that all the mistakes made by my previous generations will end with me. My future family will be a joyful and peaceful one. I'm gonna create a home where it is a safe haven - one that you can't wait to run back to because you know that you will be so welcomed back, that your presence was missed and that you will not be judged but rather, loved and accepted for who you are. A home where you are allowed to make mistakes and will not feel condemned when you trip and fall. A home where you have so much fun, laughter and joy. A home where you learn good things so naturally and not have to be forced into blind obedience. The list of good things doesn't end. And I can hardly wait for this dream to come to pass. =)

4 more months to my 21st Birthday! =)

25 June 2008

I'm so glad that I dragged myself out of the house today! The other result would be unimaginable! I glad that I'm surrounded by people who are wiser, stronger and positive! My friends who will always be there for me and stand by me when I'm in need . . . thanks so much really. You know who you are , all of you. =) *Big hugs* from me.

Had dinner at Fish n Co with Zoe, Jo and Jamie! Thank you Zoe for the treat, Jo for the ride home (though I doubt u will see this since u dun read blogs, haha =p) and Jamie for making me happy! I always have so much fun when Jamie is around. We are both super "I" people. ;)

I think I startled Jo and especially Jamie when I got really excited and was pretty aggressive in my speech. Oops. Sorry Jamie. I shall learn to be assertive and not aggressive in my speech. =)

What I got home today was:

  1. I gotta be fierce and fight for what I want. When you and I don't fight for what we want, what we dun want will take over and the result is oh my gosh, I can hardly imagine! I dun want what I dun want to take over so I gotta fight for what I want! Fight tooth and nail, FIGHT! Be a fighter Wendy!

  2. I can't let others fight the battle for me, I have to fight my own battles!
Thank you for the word B. Darren. =)

No battles, no victory! Sometimes I stand down and lose the will to fight. But I will get up again. I will always get up again!

I'm going through a valley and it's not easy but my breakthrough is waiting for me at the end when I walk through it. My breakthrough is coming! Keep walking, keep fighting!

My heart is not a playground. It's fragile, it's precious and needs to be handled with care.

PMS

Crying spells, moodiness, fatigue, leg cramps, weakened immunity, choc cravings and pimple outbreak equals PMS for me! When I get to heaven, I think the first person I will look for is Eve. I think our conversation will go something like this:

Wendy: Hello Eve, what was so great about the apple?

Eve: Well I dunno, the devil made me eat it.

Wendy: Uh - huh, but did you know yr one bite tormented billions of women worldwide with the thing called PMS?

Eve: PMS?

Wendy: Yes, Pre-Menstral Syndrome. It makes females bla bla bla bla (tells her the whole list of proven, scientifically documented symptoms) before their period comes every month. EVERY MONTH. Why did you had to (%(#)$)@## eat the *$(&($@( apple!!!???

Eve: *remains silent*

Wendy: *rolls eyes and heads for chocolate buffet in Heavenly & Divine Choc Street*

Laughs! =D

I feel much better now. Thank God. And I'm really blessed to have Joelle around. I know I can always count on her. You know sometimes you wonder if anyone at all understands what u're going through, and after sharing with her, it really made me feel that I'm not alone in this fight. That someone understands, that when I'm sinking in the mud and can't see the light, I can reach out my hand and someone will reach out theirs and save me.

I need a miracle, God!

Anyway, Jamie, Darrenn, George and I went dancing at DblO on Sat night! Everything was a treat! =) It was a super last min decision but it really turned out fun because JAMIE the Hottie was dancing with me! She dances so so well! Loves it! =) It has always been my dream to dance with her on the dancefloor. ;)

We are the life of the party!!! =D

I want the happy, cheerful, bubbly, joyful Wendy back. Come back, come back.

Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey, but made popular again by the dashing David Cook

We were as one, babe
For a moment in time

And it seemed everlasting
That you would always be mine
Now you want to be free
So I'm letting you fly
Cause I know in my heart, babe
Our love will never die
No . . .

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

I ain't gonna cry, no
And I won't beg you to stay
If you're determined to leave boy
I will not stand in your way

But inevitably, you'll be back again
'Cause you know in your heart, babe
Our love will never end
No

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

I know that you'll be back, boy
When your days and your nights get a little bit colder ooohhh
(I know that) you'll be right back
Oh baby, believe me
It's only a matter of time . . .

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

All We Are - One Republic

I tried to paint you a picture
The colours were all wrong
Black and white didn't fit you and all along
you were shaded with patience
You're strokes of everything
that I need just to make it
and I believe that

Time can tear you apart
But it won't break anything that you are, you are . . .

We won't say our goodbyes
You know it's better that way
We won't break
We won't die
It's just a moment of change
All we are
All we are is everything that's right
All we need
All we need
A lover's alibi
Oh oh

I walked a minute in your shoes
They never would've fit
I figured there's nothing to lose
I need to get some perspective on these words before I write them down
You're an island and my ship is running ground

Time can tear you apart
But it won't break anything that we are, we are . . .

We won't say our goodbyes
You know it's better that way
We won't break
We won't die
It's just a moment of change
All we are
All we are is everything that's right
All we need
All we need
A lover's alibi
Oh
Oh
Oh

Every single day that I can breathe you change my philosophy
I'm never gonna let you pass me by

So don't say your goodbyes
You know its better that way
We won't break
We won't die
It's just a moment of change, yeah

Ooh
Ooh
Oh

I've been very tui bu qi to my loyal blog readers because I don't update my blog often nowadays. Especially Victor, who checks my blog like 5 times day (u want to stress me out rite!? haha. :P).

I finally completed my assignment in the afternoon, having read 515 pages and typing a 1200+ summary on 5 points that impacted me the most. I really did gain something from doing the assignment. It was not just doing a dead piece of homework. And I could do it with relative ease. =)

Next assignment is due this coming Friday and it's only 500 words and is a much slimmer book so should be chicken feet already. ;) And I'm sure Benny Hinn's book is gonna be interesting. =) Exams next Thurs and Friday! All MCQs so I'm sure I will enjoy doing it. I love MCQs! Haha.

Today marks 2 months of SOT! So far so good! Tiring but still great nonetheless. I think the next 2 months plus is gonna be more awesome!!! So looking forward to it! =D Next week, we're gonna try on our graduation gowns already. So fast rite? 24 Aug is graduation day. ;)

Anyway, I have not been hanging out or entertaining myself since watching SATC last Sun and I only have Sun this week to really let my hair down, feed my soul and have some solid good fun! Still comtemplating if I should catch the Big Groove dance concert at Expo on Sun because it's $25!

Yawns, I woke up and wrote this entry, back to bed now! =) I'm in hostel btw and I hear and see that some people are still up at this hour!

Going to JB for dinner tonight!! I shall take pictures and post them here and revive my otherwise getting-dull-and-boring blog! ;)

Sleepy and tired!

" He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint. "

I'm now blogging from the computer in one of the NTU libraries. I've been bunking in with Joelle the last few days and she's really nice to me. I just came back from Kedah, Malaysia on Mon morning.

I've been really busy lately. Thank God the 1000 - 1500 words assignment due date is postponed till next Fri. I still have 400+ more pages of the book to read.

My laptop is now at the repair centre and I prob won't be getting it back till 1 to 2 weeks later. So I prob can't blog much. And neither can I show you pics here. Boo.

For the last one month plus since I stepped into SOT, I've been really living outside of my comfort zone. Physically and mentally, it's a stretch. But I do believe that greater things are installed for me.

I'm reminding myself that my character is more important than my comfort. So cheers to a better Wendy! =)
