I went to watch Alvin & The Chipmunks with Charles and David! And oh my gosh, I loved it! =) Their voices are so so so cute. Both Charles and David said the exact same thing to me right after the movie. Each of them said, " I can imagine the songs playing at MOS. " And I was like, What!? WHY?? MOS? WHY MOS?? WHY NOT ZOUK? WHY NOT OTHER CLUBS? WHY MOS?? LOL.

I was on a blogging hiatus. I think I should be back now. =)

Anyway, I added 3 strands of hair extensions to spruce up my look for this festive season and no prizes for guessing what colour they are in! [ Er, what are my 2 fave colours? =) ] The last time I added hair extensions was in June 2006. It cost me $10 per strand and I spent like $40 on it. This time it only cost me $6! Smiles. =) It was done at the makeshift store at the basement of Cineleisure Orchard. The aunty who did my hair has been in this business for 21 years. She has cut hair longer than I have breathed air! (The previous sentence rhymes! Ha ha.) She said she'll be there once a month so that means I can like, go there monthly to add different colour hair extensions each time! Let's see if I'm crazy/bold enough to do that and try like blue, red, yellow, purple, etc. extensions. =D

The extensions took less than 10 mins to do and thanks to Ade, Jamie, Zhi Nian and Elicia for waiting for me! We went for lunch & shopping session at Orchard. I'm glad that I got to spend time with my sistas, esp. Nian & Elicia coz it's the 1st time I went shopping with them since we were in the same family in Feb! Come to think of it, there are still a lot of things tat we have yet to do together!!

PSLE Results!

PSLE results are out today!

My cousin, Jeslyn, whom I tutored her in English for a couple of months, scored 4 A*s!!! Her PSLE aggregate is 258/300. She is the indisputable top PSLE scholar of the Ang family now. Haha.

My other cousin, Richard, whom I tutored, improved in his results too! He is satisfied with his results so I'm glad lah.

Ladies and gentleman, I am pleased to announce that my student, Rena, whom I tutored since July last year has improved by leaps and bounds for her PSLE!! She used to always fail or do very badly for her English, Maths and Science subjects in her tests and exams. Her mum was really worried that she would end up in Normal stream... BUT guess what?? She went on to get A B B C and is going to the Express stream in sec sch! =) I am really really happy. =)

Many a times I felt like giving up on tutoring her because she was really giving me a hard time - refusing to do homework, throwing temper tantrums, falling asleep in every class... But thank God I didn't! I persevered through and I am so proud of what she has achieved today. =)

YAYNESS!

It was "Sparkarnival" in school today and I was in charged of going around the canteen, asking people to dedicate songs and to join the Student Council (SC). I managed to persuade 5 people to sign up for the council. 3 Vietnamese, 1 Chinese and 1 Nigerian doing his MBAs. They got lollipops as a reward, courtesy of us, the SC. Haha. Cute rite?

I also went around giving out candy floss at the end. It was a short 2 hours but I had fun. Also got to know my other fellow council members better, especially Chris, the Welfare Secretary. I see great leadership qualities in him. =)

Tmr is "Around The World", where teams will play a treasure hunt of sorts in campus and I am supposed to run around with them to make sure they don't cheat. I rather stay in canteen, be in charged of the same thing and groove to the music though. Haha. ;)

I went to The Cathay after that, my frequent hang out place cos of my gym membership at the Fitness First there. Have u been to the shopping mall lately? They placed a pretty pretty pretty PINK Christmas tree at the lobby. I love that tree! Wanna bring it home, admire and hug it all day long! LOL. (Crazy...)

The moment I got home, my grandma offered me chocolates and I started eating them right away until she repeatedly told me to stop and had to take it away from me. I am such an emotional eater when it comes to chocolates. ('-')"' And then grandma just called me on my hp(she's 2 floors up) to say that I can have the rest of the chocs in the fridge but to finish it in 2 sittings, not 1. Will I really?

3 more days to my history exam. 3 assignments to complete. And learning from "The Pursuit of Happiness", this part of my life is called, "Crunch Time". Heh.

I'm back. I realised how childish I was, being upset about something, over someone when that person has so moved on. What for put myself through all that pain? Why cry about something I cannot change? Why brood over the past? I'm a 20-year-old woman now, no more behaving like a 13-year-old kid. =)

I really thank God for a great bunch of friends who are there for me when I fell. When I'm wounded and lying on the floor, they are the ones who put me on a stretcher and carry me till I'm strong enough to stand up again. They are the ones who talked with me, heard me out, comforted me and loved me. They helped me through this ordeal. Thank you so much.

To Valerie: Valerie dear, even though u are going through yr 'A' Levels, u still shower me with yr love and concern. It really means a lot. =) I love you. The words u said really encouraged me. *Hugs hugs*

To Zoe: Thanks for yr words of encouragement, for sharing with me yr perspective, for being so patient and gracious toward me, allowing me to be make my own decisions, reminding to be on the offensive, the list will never end. ;)

I'm no longer 19. I am officially 20... I lived for 2 decades... what will the 3rd decade of my life be? 20 to 30 years old. I think many many huge changes are gonna take place the next 10 years of my life. This will be the decade I see myself transforming from a student to a successful working adult, have my own house, drive my own car, become somebody's wife, have children and hopefully become a millionaire before 30.

Suddenly I feel like 10 years seem too short for all that to happen!

My phone could not be switched after it shut down by itself 2 Sats ago and Nokia care center told me it was "beyond repair". I got my phone back yesterday and it's working perfectly fine! It even feels better than before. =) Rejoice rejoice rejoice!! =D

Choc Buffet

Debbie, Kelvin, Mark and I went for the famous chocolate buffet at Fullerton Hotel on Fri nite. I expected a wide array of chocs of all shapes and sizes but I was really disappointed! The chocs were so so... In the words of Debbie, "cheat my feelings!" Lol. It cost us $35 each. Never gonna eat it again. BAH. But I really enjoyed the company though! :)

Anyway, my previous entry was very short because I had to go for class. Yesterday was my last Values and Culture (Philosophy) lecture. I took pics with my classmates and Prof Leo Werneke. :) You can check out my new hairstyle! So far, everyone has given me good comments except for my cousin, Melissa, who said ,"You look weird", and the triplets said "Ya!" in unison. ('-')"' LOL. I love my new hairstyle more and more each day. =) =) =)

He very warmly put his arms around my shoulders when we took pics. He's 60+ so it felt like a grandpa giving me some loving. ;) He has been teaching Philosophy for the last 40 years of his life. Yes 40!! He taught Philosophy double the times that I breathed oxygen! Goodness gracious me.

He gave me an A for my in-class essay writing exam which takes up 25% of my module. Here's the comments he gave:

"Excellent essay. You give a clear development of Aristotle's concept of virtue as the mean between over and under reaching and supplying. Very good example to show how virtuous action would contribute to the overall happiness of a person. You also support your interpretation of Aristotle with specific reference to the text. "

Now u know why I couldn't stop smiling. Haha. I said that I've not gotten an A since 'O' Levels... *Correction* ---> I forgot I got an A earlier this year for my Advance Dip graduation project! Heh.

I'm crazy.

Agnes was not feeling well and postponed tuition. I was already on the way to Bukit Batok mrt. So I had some time to spare before class. Guess what I did??

Momo became Velvet Dragon and Velvet Dragon became Plush! Yes I know, they changed management yet again after such a short time (wat less than 6 months i think??). But guess what, I think this time the management is really going to do a good job, judging from their marketing, the crowd and the music (this point would definitely influence my perception, i might just term any club that plays my fave songs as good and Plush did. =p). If they keep on keeping up the good work, I think Plush won't become ______ , won't have to close down and change management again!

Something really lame happened. I was waiting to cross the road after leaving my student's house at Jurong West at around ten pm, and the people in this car on the road beside me just started to call out to me and make wolf whistles. And guess what? They were Malay guys. Like hello? I'm Chinese?? LOL. Did they mistake me for be a Malay??? Or was race simply not an issue to them?LOL. And I think one of the guy looks drunk, maybe they had too much beer since Hari Raya was the next day. I dunno! Just the weirdest things can happen!

Onwards to more serious and personal stuff, I had a long and hard conversation with my aunt just now. And the contents of it, I am not to reveal. However, my reflections on it I can. And alas, I am too tired now to ponder as such and I so shall lay my body to rest and leave this reflection to be reflected on 'nother day. (starting to talk like I'm acting in a play --> I had complete fun with the Philosophy class today yesterday where we studied a Greek tragedy play. I'm loving it! =) )

Look, how much medicine I got from the doctor.

They cost me $15.40. And consultation was just $8. Total cost for wanting to get better = $23.40 + 1 hr 15 mins. It's relatively cheap, considering I told the doctor all the ailments that I have. I don't believe in paying more to see a doc when I can pay less!

I realised today that a General Practitioner's job centers around prescribing medicine. Because tat was what the doctor was doing in the 3.5 mins of the 5 mins consultation. And I was whizzed out in a jiffy. Why all the prestige about being a doctor? And the doctor that attended to me today actually drives a motorcycle . . .

Temperature check: 37.3 degree Celsius. Just popped 2 paracetamol.

Anyway . . .

I like what my PR textbook says about 'The Zen Of Public Relations' :

" Sometimes a new paradigm - a different perspective - can enhance our understanding. And what could be farther from the practicality of public relations than spirituality? To better understand an important public relations concept, consider the principle of interconnectedness - the duality in which everything is related. I totally hate being sick. There are soooo many things that I can't do when I fall sick. I can't:

1. Go for classes
2. Give tuition
3. DANCE (becos I have no mood or energy to do so!)

And many many more.

I don't feel like leaving my house, I don't feel like talking, I don't feel like blogging. I don't feel like doing anything! The only thing I can really enjoy doing when I'm sick is probably sleep and watch tv which I have been doing the past 2 days.

It's back to studying the history of America with Dr Virginia McCombs tmr. It beats studying Singapore history anytime. Not that I hate Singapore of course. Yours truly is a lover of this country and a grateful citizen, mind you. Talking about this, you have to read this blog entry by Xiaxue about ungrateful Singaporeans:

I totally agree with her.

Anyway, today I got a random call from Wi*****, and he actually asked me out. Like just out of the blue. And just the other day, this other guy, randomly asked me out for coffee which I had to turn down because I wasn't free. And there is this Indian guy, who is currently serving his NS, asking me out several times which I had to turn down because I simply wasn't interested.

The guys who have asked me out on a date are like totally random guys who I don't really have a friendship with? GOSH. When when when will a decent, smart, handsome, godly guy ask me out on a date!? Even my girlfriends don't call me randomly to ask me out even though I wished they would!

Just ranting. BLAH. Hate being sick. BLAH.

Russian woman's 12th baby weighs in at 7.75 kg

A Siberian woman who gave birth to her 12th child -- doing more than her fair share to stem Russia's population decline -- was stunned to find that little Nadia weighed in at a massive 7.75 kg (17.1 lb).

Nadia was delivered by caesarean section in the local maternity hospital in the Altai region on September 17, joining eight sisters and three brothers, a local reporter said.

"We were all simply in shock," said Nadia's mother, Tatyana Barabanova, 43. "What did the father say? He couldn't say a thing -- he just stood there blinking."

"I ate everything, we don't have the money for special foods so I just ate potatoes, noodles and tomatoes," she told the reporter, adding that all her previous babies had weighed more than 5 kg.

The Guinness World Records lists a 10.2 kg baby boy born in Italy in 1955, and a 10.8 kg baby boy who was born in the United States in 1879 but died 11 hours later.

The average weight for most healthy newborn babies is around 3.2 kg (7.06 lb), according to World Health Organisation figures.

And I thought I was heavy being born at 4.2 kg, 19 years and 11 months ago today. =D

Accepted into Student Council!

My school, MDIS, is forming its pioneer batch of Student Council. I applied and went for the interview yesterday.
