I've been really busy lately. Thank God the 1000 - 1500 words assignment due date is postponed till next Fri. I still have 400+ more pages of the book to read.
My laptop is now at the repair centre and I prob won't be getting it back till 1 to 2 weeks later. So I prob can't blog much. And neither can I show you pics here. Boo.
For the last one month plus since I stepped into SOT, I've been really living outside of my comfort zone. Physically and mentally, it's a stretch. But I do believe that greater things are installed for me.
I'm reminding myself that my character is more important than my comfort. So cheers to a better Wendy! =)

Grandmama
20 April, Sun @ COSBT
My grandma is in her eighties and the earlier part of her life was plagued with hardships. She had to hide in the mountains when the Japanese attacked S'pore in WWII. She married young to an abusive husband, later divorced and had to singlehandedly bring up 8 children. Not 1, not 2 but 8 children. Her pain, only God will understand. Just like some pain that you and I have to go through, no other human being will understand as much as God will. And He knows. He knows your every thought and hears every word you speak. He knows your pain, your suffering, your hopes, your dreams. He knows every single thing about you. Even the hairs on your head are numbered.
My grandma said no to God for eighty years. Finally, on one fateful day, she said yes. Yes to love, to peace, to healing for her every hurt, to a relationship with the one who knows her inside out. And I know one day it will be your turn.

Suddenly, this thought crossed my mind: " I want to have such super duper adorable and charming ang moh children and in order for that to happen, I need to marry a ang moh husband. And maybe migrate to America." Hahaha. Now I know why many Asian girls dig ang mohs so much! :D
Cross-cultural marriage, what do you think?? My aunt married a Britain and one of my cousins married a Korean. Will Wendy marry a Chinese, her own race? Or will she break socially accepted norms and tradition and marry an American? And produce super adorable Caucasian offsprings that some Chinese can only wish they have?
P.S: Wendy is going to America in December. If she doesn't come back, you know why! :P

" Men are like buses . . . . You can passively wait - and perhaps miss the bus because you weren't prepared to get on. Or you can actively wait - poised at the curb with all your packages balanced, ready to make the leap when the bus arrives. How you wait is up to you. Are you waiting in doubt and resignation? Or are you waiting in anticipation of your mate's arrival? Who sits down on the bench when they think the bus is coming? " LIKE WOW huh?
Ok moving on! I was supposed to go for the bob haircut (think Victoria Beckham and Rihanna) but due to time constraint, the hairstylist decided not to do it in the end. But oh well, I was just getting comfortable with my new hairstyle anyway. He highlighted my hair though! Violetish red. Not a very significant change but special nonetheless because I never had a permanent hair color on my black mane for 20 years! :D He highlighted my hair in front of like 30 other hairstylists! A bit nervous initially but okay lah. :) He has 30 years of experience in the hair industry so I know I was in safe hands. He kept saying my hair is very very black and said I have very healthy and smooth hair. :)

Orientation was yesterday and I saw many familiar faces in SOT! Perez,Joelle, Michelle, Huiling, Delvina, Jing, Jeremy, Carol, Kee Wei, Kelvin,Aaron from SMU, Theresa, Aaron from Dance. Did I miss out anyone!? Haha.
My team 16, combined with 25 for the orientation games and we won 2nd runner up for best team! :) The prize was $30 attributes voucher for each of us! :) Thinking of using it to buy a best-selling pink in colour book about singlehood which I saw the last time I was at Attributes. Haha.
My team has about 20 pple, like 5 just graduated from poly, 5 final year in Uni and the rest of them are working adults but almost everyone is in their 20s. =) Samuel Soo is my new best friend here! A sometimes lame, but makes-me-laugh-and-nice brother. ;) He's my competition for the Best SOT Student award. Hehe.
With my SOT tag, nice? :) And of course, my new hairstyle. Haha . I was bored of my previous hairstyle so I went for bangs which only cost me 5 bucks. :D It's like a new hairstyle to mark a new chapter of my life. Prettier now not? LOL.
Choir practice in an hour and sleeping over at Joelle's hostel tonight! :)
U would have noticed many smiley faces in this entry. That's because I am happy happy happy. =)

What Wendy Ang Means |
![]() You are very charming... dangerously so. You have the potential to break a lot of hearts. You know how what you want, how to get it, and that you will get it. You have the power to rule the world. Let's hope you're a benevolent dictator! You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row. You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace. People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality. You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in. You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising. You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are deeply philosophical and thoughtful. You tend to analyze every aspect of your life. You are intuitive, brilliant, and quite introverted. You value your time alone. Often times, you are grumpy with other people. You don't appreciate them trying to interfere in your affairs. |
The words in red dun sound like me! Haha.

The Leader
'In Search of Excellence', calls the leader a 'social architect.' - Warren Bennis
The world changes from the top down not the bottom up.
If you're the leader, lead!
You can't lead from the rear.
You're out front. You go where others don't.
You take people where they don't want to go, but when you get them there, they kiss you!
The people aren't doing it because the leader hasn't led them into doing it. That's why you're the leader.
If the people aren't ready, it's because the leader hasn't prepared them.
Leaders change the world.
They don't leave the world the same way they found it.
Stepping out with you,
Phil Pringle

My 5th March
Anyways, I finally ventured out after cooping at home the past 2 days and had dinner with Evan, Vann, Yuling and Liu Jing!
Their presence makes me look forward to attending choir prac! =)
Then we headed on down to choir prac tgt. It was so enjoyable! =) We laughed so much during our ritualistic vocals training, here's why! :
Annabel said we need to improve in our vocal skills be it when it comes to rhythm or whatever we're weak in so yeah I gotta do that! I needa remember my parts and sing the right notes all the time! We rehearsed CCC's "Take a Hold of Me" and "You're Deserving". I love "Take a Hold of Me"! "God oh God, take a hold of me, turn me upside down, let's make history! Let yr power get inside me, show me all I can be!" Sing it out loud with all yr hearts this weekend pple! ;)
The passion for Choir is back again... I belong. =) I believe I'm here to stay. =)
My day was simple but yet it was full of joy and laughter. Just kept seeing things that made me smile and laugh. Robb Thompson said in his Daily Success Key today that "Everyday is a gift from God waiting to be unwrapped." Indeed it is so. May I always unwrap His gifts everyday and not leave them at a corner to collect dust! And my ear is not painful after we prayed for healing tgt during choir prac! =)

And in my dream, I remembered one of the girls had long hair and that there was salmon on the table. And that was exactly what it was.
And you know I don't believe in concidence.
Any reasonable explanation for this anyone?

First time I wore this outfit. =) So glad to bump into Evan at Bedok's hawker centre.
Haha. We wear so nice go hawker centre... The chicken hanging behind sort of acts as a contrast! And oh oh, you-know-who's bro is the guy in white behind! =D
Hmmm, Jamie said I looked nice with my hair tied-up and all the girls agreed in unison!
Lalala.
