You know, in the most formative years of my childhood, it was my grandma who was there for me, taking care of me and bringing me up. I have a bond with her and I owe who I am today to her. Without her years of sowing into my life, I dunno what I would have become. I'm so glad that she came to know Jesus and experienced His peace and His healing power on her legs.
My grandma is in her eighties and the earlier part of her life was plagued with hardships. She had to hide in the mountains when the Japanese attacked S'pore in WWII. She married young to an abusive husband, later divorced and had to singlehandedly bring up 8 children. Not 1, not 2 but 8 children. Her pain, only God will understand. Just like some pain that you and I have to go through, no other human being will understand as much as God will. And He knows. He knows your every thought and hears every word you speak. He knows your pain, your suffering, your hopes, your dreams. He knows every single thing about you. Even the hairs on your head are numbered.
My grandma said no to God for eighty years. Finally, on one fateful day, she said yes. Yes to love, to peace, to healing for her every hurt, to a relationship with the one who knows her inside out. And I know one day it will be your turn.

We were in the Korean flow and went to a Korean BBQ restaurant located at Exclesior Hotel (near Funan IT Mall)! The food was yummy! First time in the 20 years of my life that I actually tasted Korean food! Their white rice is really one of a kind and I dun fancy kimchi of course. ;)

I was just at the usual bus stop this morning waiting for Ben to come pick me. I was experiencing some serious morning blues when lo and behold, came this super adorable little ang moh girl. She was with her mum and her older brother who was pretty handsome. I noticed her the moment she was near me. And when she stood in front of me, I smiled (the last thing I felt like doing) and said: " Hello, you're so cute! She looked at me and said, "Hello!" in a high-pitched voice. Moments later, she said to her mother, "Mama, are we taking bus 61"? and I tell you that was unbelievably cute. I chuckled. I had a huge urge to take a picture of her the moment I set my eyes on her. I was this close to whipping out my camera. She was pretty and had this beautiful pair of bluish-green eyes with blonde hair. Her bus came and this little ang moh girl that brought a smile to my face and brightened up my emo morning disappeared from my sight.
Suddenly, this thought crossed my mind: " I want to have such super duper adorable and charming ang moh children and in order for that to happen, I need to marry a ang moh husband. And maybe migrate to America." Hahaha. Now I know why many Asian girls dig ang mohs so much! :D
Cross-cultural marriage, what do you think?? My aunt married a Britain and one of my cousins married a Korean. Will Wendy marry a Chinese, her own race? Or will she break socially accepted norms and tradition and marry an American? And produce super adorable Caucasian offsprings that some Chinese can only wish they have?
P.S: Wendy is going to America in December. If she doesn't come back, you know why! :P

I'm currently halfway through "What To Do Until Love Finds You" by Michelle Mckinney Hammond and the introduction is really mind-blowing information!
" Men are like buses . . . . You can passively wait - and perhaps miss the bus because you weren't prepared to get on. Or you can actively wait - poised at the curb with all your packages balanced, ready to make the leap when the bus arrives. How you wait is up to you. Are you waiting in doubt and resignation? Or are you waiting in anticipation of your mate's arrival? Who sits down on the bench when they think the bus is coming? " LIKE WOW huh?
Ok moving on! I was supposed to go for the bob haircut (think Victoria Beckham and Rihanna) but due to time constraint, the hairstylist decided not to do it in the end. But oh well, I was just getting comfortable with my new hairstyle anyway. He highlighted my hair though! Violetish red. Not a very significant change but special nonetheless because I never had a permanent hair color on my black mane for 20 years! :D He highlighted my hair in front of like 30 other hairstylists! A bit nervous initially but okay lah. :) He has 30 years of experience in the hair industry so I know I was in safe hands. He kept saying my hair is very very black and said I have very healthy and smooth hair. :)

Dine was nice to let me hold her wand. :D
It was Geraldine's 21st celebration yesterday at Bottle Tree Park at Khatib. Quite an interesting and nice place. But I won't hold my birthday celebration there. It cost $1200 just to book the place and cater the food for 40 people. So ex! My 21st birthday party must be under $1000 and super super fun.

I finally deleted the smses that I held dear to. 534 of them. It took courage. The 11 months long affair has finally come to an end. A big thank you to all my dear friends who saw me through it, who heard my sorrows, my struggles, counseled and scolded me. I needed all that. LG & LG. ;) It wasn't easy at all of course, but it is not impossible either. I am living out Phil 3:13 - 14 in my life.

SOT classes started today and guess what!? I just got 2 good paying tuition assignments today in a couple of hours! Just like that with no extra effort of looking for them on my part! PTL! =) He is good! :) The POG attracts tuition assignments. Haha.
Orientation was yesterday and I saw many familiar faces in SOT! Perez,Joelle, Michelle, Huiling, Delvina, Jing, Jeremy, Carol, Kee Wei, Kelvin,Aaron from SMU, Theresa, Aaron from Dance. Did I miss out anyone!? Haha.
My team 16, combined with 25 for the orientation games and we won 2nd runner up for best team! :) The prize was $30 attributes voucher for each of us! :) Thinking of using it to buy a best-selling pink in colour book about singlehood which I saw the last time I was at Attributes. Haha.
My team has about 20 pple, like 5 just graduated from poly, 5 final year in Uni and the rest of them are working adults but almost everyone is in their 20s. =) Samuel Soo is my new best friend here! A sometimes lame, but makes-me-laugh-and-nice brother. ;) He's my competition for the Best SOT Student award. Hehe.
With my SOT tag, nice? :) And of course, my new hairstyle. Haha . I was bored of my previous hairstyle so I went for bangs which only cost me 5 bucks. :D It's like a new hairstyle to mark a new chapter of my life. Prettier now not? LOL.
Choir practice in an hour and sleeping over at Joelle's hostel tonight! :)
U would have noticed many smiley faces in this entry. That's because I am happy happy happy. =)

I saw Xiaxue and Fiona Xie outside Zouk yesterday! Xiaxue is really short in person. Fiona was wearing a cap and kind of secretive. Toooo bad that I didnt get to take pics with them. But I made new friends! Amanda, Erica, Daniel, Natalie, just to name a few! And I bumped into Gab Ho who will always shout chiongster! when he sees me there. LOL. But we both know who the real chiongster is. Kingsley said he'll Phuture with me when he comes back, yayness. =D
It's a night I wont forget. Smiles...
