My Soul Enriched - On Controversy, Friendship, Love and Life. =)

Even though it's 2.51am right now, I'm on a high. Not a single bit of wanting-to-sleep. It's largely due to the endorphin-packed Vanhouten hazelnut chocolates that I was feeding myself with just now while watching Da Vinci Code Declassified on the Discovery Channel (pre-recorded) just now. I had to rewind at some points to catch the parts that I didn't really get and I guess it's partly due to me not having read the famous Dan Brown's novel or watched the movie. BUT after watching the show, I've come to understand what the Da Vinci Code is all about, or at least most of it. So cleary, the investigations and the arguments put forward by the various experts have shaken the "facts" behind the organization of Priory of Sion and the controversies of Leonardo's paintings, especially his well-known painting of The Last Supper.

At the end of the one hour program, this was what I felt : Controversial topics sell... Controversy excites the hungry nature of mankind in search of truth, mystery entices. And on Dan Brown's side? It's the big M. No, not M for Mary Magdalene, but M for MONEY. The sale of Da Vinci Code must have landed millions of dollars into the author's pocket. His purpose was to appeal to the masses, to attact populations to purchase his book, to create a hoo-ha and ultimately to make money. Wrong? NO, I don't think so. RIGHT? Not so either. Because he mixed facts and fiction together and confused many people as a result of that. I dunno about you but I want the TRUTH, the truth in its totality, in its exclusivity. I don't want someone coming at me and throwing facts, lies, half-truths and then asking me to go figure. How many people in the world can always make a right judgement in this "rojak" and be able to analyse every situation or story for that matter accurately? That leaves me one word for this novel: Misleading. No.2 Big M.

Ok. Enuff said. Moving on: =)

My day may not have started well but it ended on a really happy note.

First of all, MY DANCE GROUP, E-BODICONS ;) , GOT INTO TALENTIME FINALS FOR EMERGE! =0 I was so so excited and surprised when I heard the news from Krystal. Not surprised because I didn't expect it but surprised in a unbelievable way, a positive one! (I really hoped that we would get in. I felt an anointing when we prayed before our auditions, btw. =) ) My team is gonna perform in front of 8,000 people and God-knows-how-many over the internet! So Krystal's vision last year that it was gonna happen was true after all! PTL! Those few days of "pianging", trying to get the steps right, getting ready for the auditions, having less sleep then usual was WORTH IT. =) =) =) DANCE DANCE DANCE! I"M GONNA give my heart out and DANCE! Watch out world, you're gonna be entertained!! ;)

When I announced the news to my leader, Zoe, the first thing she said was that our CG will be supporting me. That thought made me really happy. =) I've always been a supportive person -cheering, shouting, clapping, raving, jumping, waving, you name it, I've done it. Haha. This time for a change, I get to be supported and cheered on. I believe it is one of the best experiences in the world. That's why I've always been very vocal, very outspoken, very loud, when it comes to cheering people on. =) I really hope that our performance will be during one of the night sessions of the Emerge Conference! The atmosphere in the night sessions are really electrifying but somewhat lukewarm in the afternoon ones. That is of course, my personal opinion. =)

The next few great moments of my life today were meeting Yun Tian, Jaslyn, Aileen and Evangelyn, my dear friends and sisters-in-Christ. I shall expound:

Yun Tian

My junior in Nan Hua. She's in NJ now and she's taking part in SYF competition for Choir. I realised that choir has been her CCA since her primary school days! Her voice is really clear and it stands out (in a good way). =) I could hear it so audibly even though there were many voices singing at that monent during the Benny Hinn choir rehearsal just now. She has dark eye bags and is really tired because she has been having very intensive trainings for choir lately. 3 times a week and for hours on end!Poor thing.

She wanted to cab home so I shared the cab with her since she stays really near my place. On the journey back, we didn't talk much because she was busy attending to her missed calls. Though not many words were exchanged between us, I got to know her better through the conversations that she had with people on the line. For most part, she was discussing about her choir team for the SYF competition. It was the first time I've heard someone describe singing and choir like that. I am unable to put down in words what it was like but one word I can tell you about her is this: Commitment. This girl is committed to her choir, to her passion. Tired as she may be, she wants to give her best. She is stressed out with the preparation that she is going through but that just shows me one thing - the competition means a lot to her and she wants her choir to sing and perform well. This is PASSION. Another thing I felt about her is that she is a really sweet and gentle girl. This gal is gonna go a long way. YOU GO GIRL. And if you happen to be in NJC's choir and reading this entry, you better BUCK UP TOO. =) Go YUN TIAN GO! Will be praying for ya!! Jiayou!!

Jaslyn

Jaslyn was my junior in Nan Hua too and guess what!? She's my junior in CJC now! Woo Hoo. =) She was wearing the CJ uniform and for a moment, I actually MISS wearing one. Suddenly wished that I could go back in time to experience what it's like to be studying in CJ again! Of course, I didn't felt like that during my JC days. I wanted it to quickly end because I was too stressed out, too fatiqued and weary. Nevertheless, I did enjoy my JC days, though it was very much bittersweet....

Looking at Jaslyn gave me hope for CJ.... She and Yun Tian were instrumental in bringing revival in Nan Hua after I left the school. And they really did a lot, holding meetings and all. They made me feel so proud of them. Now I realise, Jaslyn can be the one to hold the baton... It doesn't matter that the person whom I passed the baton to didn't do her job.... Now God has provided. =) Jaslyn, CJ's fate lies in your hands and God's for now! =)

Evangelyn

I was so glad to see Evangelyn. Missed her. There was such closeness in our embrace. =) She never fails to make me feel valuable and treasured. =) Her results are coming out next week so I'm really excited for her. Know it's gonna be great! She's a scholar k! =) Hehe.

Aileen

Aileen called my name twice before she mangaed to get a hold of me. She literally did! The first thing we did were to give each other a hug and it felt so, so good. Her love flowed out of that warm and genuine embrace, and it nourished my soul. =) The first thing that I noticed was her cute hairband which I complimented her about and she gave this chuckle that was full of joy... the kind that makes you happy too when you hear it. I would really really love to be roomates with her. Daddy, are you seeing this?? Muahaha.

I was reading a couple of friends' blog before this and Aileen's was one of them. Her dad was out of job for sometime and he just got a job that pays him more than $2.8 k per month, way beyond his expectation and with many other benefits too! Like cherries on the cake. =) I'm so happy for her!

I read my good friend, Calida's blog and realised that she got a temp job that pays her $8.50 per hr! That's like great or what!? She too was a little disappointed from being out of job for some time and look at what she received later.

All these only point to me one thing.... God is indeed good. His grace abounds... it is everywhere, only if you would notice it. I am so blessed, my friends are blessed and the world is blessed to have you as our God. =) We love you. YOU ROCK.
